Israel and the Sovereignty of God

Israel Will Reign with Christ for One Thousand Years

Many of the Reformed faith believe in a spiritual Israel as if there is no nation. However, consider the reasoning of the following verses in their Biblical context carefully.

Isaac was of the promise, but he was also an heir of Abraham genetically. He was then a complete Jew.

"This man will not be your heir; but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir." And He took him outside and said, "Now look toward the heavens and count the stars, if you are able to count them." (Genesis 15:4, 5)

The context demands Israel as a nation among nations. That God only saves the remnant in every country does not eliminate Israel as a nation.

"He found him in a desert land, and in the howling wasteland of a wilderness; He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the apple of His eye." (Deuteronomy 32:10)

The day is coming when the time of the Gentiles will be complete. Gentiles will no longer lead the Church. The Apple of God's eyes is still His sovereign choice, and that it is the nation of Israel.

"For thus says the LORD of hosts, "After glory, He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye." (Zechariah 2:8) Those who curse and condemn Israel stick their finger in God's eye. Not a good idea!

God's word and promise stand sure for all generations.

"And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." (Genesis 12:3)
