The Blood of the Innocent

Gospel Light

The Lord was Unwilling to Forgive

"It indeed came upon Judah at the command of the LORD, to remove them from His sight due to the sins of Manasseh, in accordance with everything that he had done, and also for the innocent blood which he shed, for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; and the LORD was unwilling to forgive." 2 Kings 24:3, 4 There is nothing more chilling to one who believes than the words, "...the LORD was unwilling to forgive." The principle revealed here is that God holds His anger but only to a point, then He is no longer willing to forgive. Apart from the forgiveness of God, every soul that is born faces an eternity in hell, which will be according to deeds done and light received.

Judgment will be done according to deeds as stated in Revelation 20:12, but it will also be according to the amount of light received, as in Luke 11:30, 32. "For just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation ...The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here."

All sin is not the same. If all sin were the same, all of God's judgment would fall all the time, but it does not. "But it came about, when the judge died, that they would turn back and act more corruptly than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them and bow down to them; they did not abandon their practices or their obstinate ways" Judges 2:19. Israel acted more corruptly; no one can act more corruptly when it's all the same.

The innocent blood we read about in 2 Kings 24 is that of children sacrificed to false gods or demons. "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire ...For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD ... "For those nations, which you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice witchcraft..." Deuteronomy 18:10, 12, 14.

Our world is far worse than it used to be because it has turned its back on the light it once heard. In the 18th century, the west entered a revival known as The Great Awakening. American democracy was born out of that revival. In the 19th century, the Gospel was carried throughout the world by self-sacrificing Christians whose sole concern was the souls of men. The 20th century brought the rise of Atheism, evolution, and BCE promoting the rejection of Jesus Christ, the most attested figure by all respectable historians and as only a bygone era.

Hatred for God in the person of Jesus Christ is rising worldwide. At The Reformation, Christians recaptured the Gospel and set men free from Christian/Roman captivity to worship God in truth. However, in late 1917, the Bolsheviks began to carry out Marixm to eliminate the "bourgeoisie" family and start supposed equality and "freedom," including reproductive rights. It was a dismal failure, but the promise continues in the form of socialism and the elimination of God.

At the writing of this post, since 1980, 1 billion 682 million 139 thousand 455 abortions have occurred worldwide. God had Israel plundered and sent into exile for 70 years for the poultry (compared to today's numbers), hundreds or maybe thousands of babies that were caused to walk through the fire. To modify the words of Ruth Graham, if God does not judge the world for legalizing and making the murdering of the unborn a right to be defended, will He not have to apologize to Israel and their surrounding nations?
