The Entrance of God the King

The Eternal King Wore a Cross Worthy of a Lamb

Saul was chosen King as a man who couldn't find his father's mules. David enters the pages of the holy writ as a youth with a passion for Israel's God. Solomon is placed in the scriptures as David comforts his wife for losing her child by receiving another. And God loved him.

Jesus is the long-awaited Savior of a hard-hearted, stubborn, rebellious people who were given the law, the covenants, the prophets, and the promise of His coming. He is reported to have been there at the beginning of all things because he created all things. He is in all His ways beyond comprehension. Jesus left the glory of an eternal and infinite state of perfection to become like those who rejected Him as King.

For fourteen-hundred and forty years, men aware of how it all started from the first man Adam denied God's existence. Four hundred years after the Great Deluge that destroyed the entire world population, except for eight people, that generation decided to build a tower and make a name for themselves and not honor the God who gave the world a second chance.

For two-thousand and sixty years following the flood and until His arrival, mankind played the harlot by making idols to worship instead of Him. "And because of the thoughtlessness of her prostitution, she defiled the land and committed adultery with stones and trees." (Jeremiah 3:9), Psychologists tell us that the most painful experience in life is a spouse's unfaithfulness. God refers to idolatry as harlotry because He wed Himself to those He made in His image in creation.

Furthermore, God continues by the prophet Jeremiah, "Yet despite this, her treacherous sister Judah did not return to Me with all her heart, but rather in deception," declares the LORD." (Jeremiah 3:10) In self-deception, the people of Judah convinced themselves that they had returned to God. God calls this action treachery. The religions that seem the most Biblical, if not authentic, offend and hurt God the worst.

At the time of Christ, the most authentic religion was Judaism. When Christ returns, it will be Christianity. Today, people's most significant concern should be, have I received Jesus Christ as Lord of my life in truth or self-deception. God rejected unbelieving Israel for rejecting His Son's offering before a complete revelation had occurred.

Enter King Jesus

To the world of increasing hostility, Jesus, the undeniable King of kings, entered the stage of human history. If finite beings such as men, who live in sin and self-deception, commit crimes of passion in rage because of the hurt they feel. How will an infinitely holy and righteous God act upon sinful humanity that has rejected and trampled underfoot the sufferings and offering up of His only begotten Son in love and grace for two-thousand years and counting?

"How much more severe punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled underfoot the Son of God and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified and has insulted the Spirit of grace?" (Hebrews 10:29) After hearing the Good News that Jesus Christ came to save sinners from their sinfulness, men have continued to rule corruptly.

The first time Jesus came as a servant. He said, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45) King Jesus healed the masses of people who would cry out for His crucifixion. He cast out demons from those who would succumb to the powers of darkness. For those whom Jesus fed bread and fish made from nothing as only God could do, they made a joke out of His death. If you be the Son of God, come down from the cross. As if He couldn't.

Some try to say that because God is sovereign, He foreordained that there should be a kingly line by which Jesus would ascend the throne. He did allow a kingly line, but not to prove men could rule well. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Enter King Jesus Again

Revelation, when read as history and not a fanciful vision that allows interpreters to read whatever they want into it, declares a thousand-year reign of Christ. Following Jesus's earthly rule as King, something entirely new will begin according to Revelation 21.

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea ...The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it." (Rev. 21:1 & 14)

The kings referred to are those who rule during the revivals of the millennial reign of Christ. Jesus reigns supreme by changing the hearts of men during this time in history. No unsaved men are allowed to rule, and Christ's decree carries out church discipline. The standard of obedience to Christ will be upheld appropriately during this time by the King of Kings. The wonder of Christ's millennial rule is on the horizon; are you going to be a part of it?
